Gratitude is a key ingredient to living life on purpose. When you have a gratitude practice, you find yourself noticing throughout the day more and more that you have to be grateful for.
Today’s Just for Today is all about exploring gratitude. Exploring your gratitude just for today. Look around and see what you notice in your life.
There’s also the opportunity to join my ongoing gratitude party. I’m going to be sharing a daily post that offers my gratitude each day and I am inviting you to join me. As you commit to being grateful every day, more experiences will emerge to be grateful for. That’s just how it works!
“Piglet noticed that even though he had a Very Small Heart, it could hold a rather large amount of Gratitude.”
― A.A. Milne,
My Gratitude Practice
Every evening, my daughter and I share a gratitude practice. We read a prayer of gratitude together called Giving Thanks: A Native American Good Morning Message.
After we’ve read it, each of us journals a list of things we are grateful for. The list length changes every day and is somewhere between 3 and 10 things. Once our journaling is done, each of us takes turn reading our list out loud.
Through this, we’ve read something about gratitude, written down our reflections and used our voices to share with another. For me, these are the critical elements of my gratitude practice.
Be sure to create a gratitude practice that feels right for you. Just because this is my way doesn’t mean it’s the right way or the only way.
