A friendly warning about New Year’s Resolutions

The countdown is on. New Year's Eve is just 1 week away and you're about to be inundated with "helpful tips" about making the most of 2014, setting New Year's resolutions, and how to keep your resolutions once you've set them.

The articles, videos, and news stories are all created with the intent to be helpful to you in shaping 2014 as an amazing year. But have you ever stopped to really look at whether or not what they are recommending is actually a good idea?  Earlier this week, I read this article on MindBodyGreen.  By the time I got about half-way through, I found myself thinking 'my god, how on earth can anyone accomplish all of this in the next 2 weeks?  It's a lifetime's worth of work!'

And so today I'm offering a different approach.  A friendly little warning about New Year's Resolutions. I'm going to be letting you in on what I do instead, so that you can approach 2014 in a new way. A way that's going to give you amazing focus on getting the most of what you want out of life.

My theme for 2014 is ‘Joy’ and living in active recognition that joy is my birthright.I will either find the joy in my situations, or recognize that I have graduated from those scenarios and move on to where i am experiencing joy.
