Do you ever feel stuck? You’ve got great intentions for making changes in your life to be healthier, do something new, or something else that feels important, but it just feels like you can’t get started or can’t stick with it once you do?
Odds are, you’re stuck. And stuck can be a comfortable place to hang out. Yes, comfortable. While it might cause you to feel upset, beat yourself up about why you aren’t able to go out and make it happen, or otherwise feel bad, it’s also strangely comfortable. After all, if it were uncomfortable, you’d find a way to change right? Sort of like changing into a more comfortable pair of shoes when you just can’t handle the discomfort of those new heels. Eventually, you’re uncomfortable enough to make it happen.
But how do you get started? How do you create some traction for yourself? Start with some forward movement that will build into momentum to keep you going? That’s what we’re talking about in this week’s video. I’ve got a simple plan for getting started in getting unstuck that I want to share with you.
Getting Unstuck: A Simple Plan
It’s all about taking small and manageable steps. You don’t have to do all the dishes, just start with 1 and see what happens. You don’t have to work out for an hour, just start with a 5 minute walk and see if you want to keep moving. You don’t have to become a master at your latest passion overnight. You just have to start with one small step.
Each small step in the right direction creates movement, creates momentum. And as momentum builds, life starts to get easier. Everything flows a little bit more effortlessly. You begin to see how your dreams and intentions can become reality.
